The full Conference Timetable and Agenda for those who missed it remains posted here. So far we have received a number of comments from both club delegates and suppliers who cam to exhibit their services. All have remarked on how enjoyable, successful and useful an experience it has been for them. Overall, 70 people attended the Conference in one role or another, with delegates from 20 out of the 110 Conservative Clubs in Yorkshire, 10 of which had not been to one of these events in recent years. Naturally we missed those delegates from clubs who have been on previous occasions but were unable to come to this one. We hope we will see you again when you return for the next Conference.

 

Our thanks go out to Timothy Kirkhope MEP, and Nigel Adams the prospective parliamentary candidate for Selby and Ainsty constituency, who both provided entertaining and informative presentations on Conservative policy, and who both emphasised the value of the links between the Conservative Party and Conservative Clubs. Our thanks also go to Ken Hargreaves and Philip Smith of the ACC, and to the ACC itself for providing the main funding for the conference. Thanks to all the suppliers who came to exhibit their goods and services, and also helped sponsor the conference, with particular thanks to Ken Watson of Marsh who sponsored the Trophy for the Yorkshire Club of the Year presented to Ingrow & Hermit Hole Conservative Club, Jack Bethel of Dransfields Novelty Co and Philip Towndrow who provided raffle prizes, and Duncan Barlow & Peter Usher from Scottish & Newcastle who provided free drinks from their range of products and wine for the Gala Dinner.

 

The executive committee of the Yorkshire Region Conservative Clubs Council will be meeting soon to discuss and plan the arrangements for the 2008 Conference.
